Day One - 1 Day Kangaroo Island Wildlife Discovery Tour

Early morning pick up from your Adelaide hotel for a scenic coach journey to Cape Jervis to connect with SeaLink’s ferry for the 45 minute crossing to Kangaroo Island or travel via air to Kingscote Airport.  On arrival at Penneshaw or Kingscote Airport you will be met by your guide and your island nature experience begins with an introduction to Kangaroo Island. Tour through several island habitats and see wildlife in its natural environment.

Kangaroo Island is a haven for Australian wildlife, which exists in its natural habitat without the threat of introduced predators. Listen to the distinct sounds of the native birdlife as they chorus from the tall eucalyptus trees. Kangaroo Island is home to some 250 species of birds, many of which, through isolation from the mainland, have developed their own subspecies and are therefore unique to Kangaroo Island. As you travel the island keep an eye out for echidnas, wallabies, reptiles and wildflowers.

At the spectacular Seal Bay Conservation Park, your guide will escort you on a memorable walk along the beach. This bay is home to a healthy Australian sea lion colony. Walk among Australian sea lions as they bask on the beach or among the sand dunes after their extensive fishing expedition. With your guide you are able to stand at a safe distance to these wonderful endangered creatures and hear them sigh and watch them at play. This is a truly unforgettable experience — one that you will treasure forever.

Enter our exclusive Heritage-listed natural bush property to enjoy a delicious gourmet style lunch with complimentary wine. Follow your lunch with a pleasant bush walk looking out for koalas in the eucalyptus trees.

Travel through the island’s interior keeping an eye out for koalas and echidnas. Explore the spectacular beaches of the north coast and enjoy a bush walk. Listen for Australia’s rarest cockatoo, the Kangaroo Island glossy black cockatoo and watch out for the Tammar wallaby, with its small, fine features, in its natural habitat.  Later in the afternoon, as the day draws to a close, see the kangaroos leave the safety of the bush to begin grazing on the open pastures. Your tour concludes at your choice of accommodation for your first night’s accommodation on Kangaroo Island.

Day Two - 1 Day Nature & Wildlife Tour

This morning we travel to eastern Kangaroo Island and discover the Cape Willoughby Lighthouse and learn about the history of the area. Enjoy the opportunity to walk through the Baudin Conservation Park in search for kangaroos, wallabies and a variety of birdlife.

Delight in a gourmet style picnic lunch with complimentary South Australian wine will be served in a secluded bush setting. During the day koalas can be observed peacefully existing in their treetop habitat.

You may visit Rob's Shearing & Sheepdogs to enjoy a sheep shearing demonstration by a real Aussie character before heading to Pennington Bay, a spectacular beach where you'll have some spectacular photo opportunities.

Visit Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery where you will learn about the history of the oil distillery and enjoy some free time in their souvenir shop where you will find an assortment of Eucalyptus products.

From here, travel to Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park where you can get up close with Koalas, see Penguins swim and play, hand feed Kangaroos and Wallabies, learn about endangered species, interact with Snakes, Crocodiles and reptiles and experience Kangaroo Island Wildlife at your fingertips! Your tour concludes at your accommodation for your second night's stay on Kangaroo Island.

Day Three - 1 Day Kangaroo Island Food, Wine & Marine Adventure

Today, travel with Kangaroo Island Marine Adventures and witness some amazing coastal formations and learn from our highly skilled guides and skipper about the ecology of the north coast and its features. We get the chance to view dolphins in their natural environment as we pass through their relaxation areas. For those that want a closer look, use our snorkel gear and jump into the dolphins’ environment for a swim! You are completely free to swim around, no ropes, no boundaries! Or for those that don’t want to get wet, sit back and enjoy the view. On return, enjoy a gourmet picnic style lunch featuring the delicious local produce of Kangaroo Island along with complimentary wine.

After lunch, travel a short distance to The Island Estate Vineyards for an intimate guided wine tasting experience in their Cygnet River tasting room. Next, visit Kangaroo Island Spirits, a local company that specialises in handcrafted premium Australian Spirits and is South Australia’s only boutique distillery. Known as KIS, the company operates a micro distillery and the award winning Gin, Vodka and Liqueurs are all produced on the premises.

As we head back into the main township of Kingscote, we’ll drop in at Island Beehive for a tour and tastings of the organic Kangaroo Island honey, which is world renowned for its quality and purity.

Kangaroo Island is South Australia’s newest wine region and you’ll get the opportunity to taste some local wines at Bay of Shoals Wines while enjoying the great sea views from the cellar door.

Your tour concludes at either Kingscote Airport for your return flight to Adelaide, or at Penneshaw in time for the return ferry to the mainland and coach transfer to Adelaide.
