Kangaroo Island is easily accessible from Adelaide, South Australia’s capital. By air it’s just a 25-minute flight, by scenic coach and ferry transfers, it is around 2.5 hours.
With Kangaroo Island Odysseys, transportation can easily be added to your touring package. This can be a transfer from an Adelaide city or Glenelg hotel to the airport (private car transfer) or to the ferry terminal at Cape Jervis (coach transfer operated by SeaLink).
SeaLink operates the ferry service between mainland South Australia and Kangaroo Island. Each crossing takes approximately 45 minutes and departs from Cape Jervis which is a 1.5 hour drive south of Adelaide, through the picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula.
KI Odysseys offer complimentary coach pick up and drop off service to Adelaide inner city hotels that connect with the SeaLink ferry service. There are only two ferry crossings daily that offer a coach connection from and to Adelaide in the morning and afternoon.

Touring is in luxury, air-conditioned Mercedes Benz vehicles and this requires passengers to bring one small bag up to 15kg per person. Please check with the airline regarding checked and carry-on luggage allowances. Adelaide Airport offers luggage storage for a small fee if required.
Getting around Kangaroo Island
There is no public transport on Kangaroo Island except for a shuttle service that operates between Kingscote Airport and Kingscote township. Pre-booking is essential. We recommend pre-booking all services like touring, accommodation and car hire before arriving on the island.
